Ecotrol Ltd is a small Grimsby based company, specialising in renewable and energy saving products and providing solar pv and heating designs for commercial premises.
Ecotrol Ltd currently employs eight people and had a turnover of around £2 million for the last year. This year, with RGF investment, Ecotrol is on course for over £5million turnover
About the project
Since Ecotrol Ltd set up business, they have rapidly out-grown their premises. The company applied for £103,000 from the Regional Growth Fund to support their £517,000 expansion plans.
The project included purchase and fit out of two adjacent business units in Grimsby, with a unique renewable self-sustaining design to incorporate solar PV. As a result, the company hopes that their installation will encourage visitors and other companies in the area to consider similar energy and cost-saving products.
The new site became operational in 2014.
As a direct result of this investment, eight direct jobs are due to be created within the organisation, and a further 16 jobs likely to be in-directly created in construction and logistics sectors and the associated supply chain.
Bruno Hickson, Operations Director at the company, said, “A significant proportion of our client base is business to business – installing our systems in business premises. As this market is relatively new, our employees are able to start at a level that’s suitable to their skills and benefit from the training we provide in order to give the customer the best advice available. We already have a good record for creating local employment and we intend to continue this in the same way in the future part of our commitment to the local area.”
