Bouncing good fun at Freshney Place Shopping Centre’s soft play area
17th July 2017
AN EXCITING new free soft play area for young children is set to open at Freshney Place Shopping Centre.
Freshney Play will provide children aged up to eight and their families on a shopping day out with a place to enjoy a host of fun games, including giant snakes and ladders, a reading corner with lots of books, a fun magnetic letters board and a creative soft play area.
The new play area – in the former Ann Summers unit on Baxtergate Mall – will be free to attend, but parental or guardian supervision will be required as the facility will be unmanned.
Amanda Austin, centre director at Freshney Place, said: “We’re really looking forward to the opening of Freshney Play.
“We’ve been working towards being able to bring an additional offer to visitors and their little ones while out shopping with us, and we’re all thrilled that we’re now able to provide this free facility for our young customers.
“The summer holidays are fast approaching and we thought it would be a great time to launch Freshney Play, giving parents another option for keeping the little ones occupied in a safe and fun environment.”
To celebrate the opening, guests will be treated to an appearance from the centre’s mascot, Freshney Dog.
The very popular pooch, which fronts Freshney Place’s Child Safety Initiative, will be at the opening from 11.45am for a one-hour meet and greet.
“There’ll be a variety of free activity events coming up at Freshney Play, which we’re looking forward to announcing soon, and I’m sure it’s going to be a very popular destination for the whole family. We hope everyone has lots of fun with us,” Amanda added.
Freshney Play opens on Tuesday at 11.45am and will be suitable for children up to eight years old, with a height restriction of 1.2 metres in place.
