Charity Young Enterprise seeks help from South Bank businesses

BOARD members are being sought for a charity that fills a crucial gap between the worlds of education and work.

Charity Young Enterprise seeks help from South Bank businesses

Young Enterprise’s strong take-up on the South Bank of the Humber has led to the decision to split the board, creating dedicated teams for both North and North East Lincolnshire.

Rachel Appleton, of Havelock Seafood is to chair the Grimsby-area, with Cristal’s Becky Kirvan-Rodgers looking after the Scunthorpe-area.

The decision aligns the charity with the local authority make-up.

Young Enterprise helps children from primary through secondary understand about money, budgeting and the basics in business through a variety of programmes.

The most prominent is the company programme scheme where groups establish their own businesses, produce products and compete on a local, regional and national level.

Mentors from the business community support them, with guidance from Lucy Gray, area manager.

For more information about the board positions, or mentoring, call Lucy on 07917 185582 or email lucy.gray@y-e.org.uk.
