Cheers! Grimsby woman converts pony trailer into gin and prosecco bar with an Italian twist

Kim Davis has launched her new business Cin Gin, a bar run out of a converted pony trailer that offers locally produced gin as well as an exclusive Italian prosecco normally only found in the UK in some of London's most high end establishments.

She says that she was inspired to start the business after finding an old pony trailer "sitting feeling sorry for itself in Tetney" and thought that she would be able to do something nice with it.

Local builder Martin Grayson took on the task of renovating it, using only recycled materials, turning the former pony trailer into a portable bar that is perfect for everything from garden parties to weddings.

It offers a selection of gins, with Louth's Pin Gin company offering to supply the little bar, as well as an exclusive arrangement with Florence-based prosecco maker Fratelli Saraceni.

Kim said: "I currently run a cleaning business here in Grimsby and I was looking for a venture that was a little more sociable and fun, and when I saw this horse trailer in Tetney sitting there feeling sorry for itself I had a spurt of inspiration and decided to go for it.

"Pop-up bars seem to be very fashionable nowadays, and they are certainly all the rage down south, so I am hoping that we can help start the trend here in Grimsby.

"Our current preferred supplier is Louth based company Pin Gin, and our prosecco cannot be purchased anywhere else in Lincolnshire after setting up a supply chain with Florence based and family run company Fratelli Saraceni who have been brilliant in offering me their support, as normally you can only get their stuff in the fanciest restaurants and places in London.

"I would like to give a big thank you to everyone who has helped me put this together, Martin Grayson who was fabulous in renovating the bar for me, Diane from the Style Lounge who helped with the launch, everyone at Relish on Alexandra Road and of course my manager Patricia Culshaw who has been my absolute rock and a calming influence whenever I got in a panic.

"We are available for everything from weddings, garden parties and days at the races to office parties and family get togethers, and I am very much looking forward to meeting new people, getting out and about, having a bit of fun - and everyone is ginvited!"

Cin Gin officially launched at the Style Lounge on Middlethorpe Road.
