AS the iconic rides disappear from Pleasure Island theme park - there are exciting new developments taking place at the on site bar McCormack's.

McCormack’s Bar to reopen at Pleasure Island site

But while the rides are disappearing one by one, what's the future of the park?

Theme park owner Melanie Wood explained more: "The park has altered dramatically over the past eight weeks, as one by one the main rides have been dismantled and transported to pastures new. The place is almost unrecognisable.

"It is with a certain amount of sadness that we now patrol the site but we are glad that most of the rides have found new homes and will continue to be enjoyed by many other people, both in the UK and abroad. The remaining rides will be advertised in trade magazines shortly in the hope that they too will be rehomed

"Fortunately the whole exercise has been a far easier one than we had anticipated."

As for a new buyer for the theme park site Melanie added: "The future of the site is still as yet unknown."

She continued: "At the moment, the efforts of the remaining six staff are focused on the relaunch of McCormack's Bar, which has seen a significant investment over the winter period.

"With a new play area for children and new outdoor seating as well as a face lift both inside and outside the venue, McCormack's is due to reopen on Friday, April 7. We have invested a great deal of time and money on selecting new acts for the family including an Adele Tribute Act, the One and Only, which debuts at the bar on Saturday, April 15.

"This can be enjoyed together with local children's entertainer Mr Shiney. The menu at McCormack's has also been greatly improved with the introduction of more homemade delights."

The bar will boast a new menu including; homemade burgers, fresh pizzas, chicken skewers, pub classics and a children's menu. Entertainment includes; tribute acts, children's entertainers, comedy acts, vocalists, duos and bands.

Offers will be available on food and drink and there will be a loyalty card. Guests can enjoy a beer garden, children's playground and arcade. Take a look at their Facebook page for opening times, entertainment schedule and offers.
