New Cleethorpes barbers shop makes headline news
10th May 2017
SUCCESS has brought one local barber to her own shop in Cleethorpes and is helping to change the face of the High Street.
Just opened, Chaps Barbers at 9 High Street, is a new venture for Emma Marshall (40) of Great Coates, after cutting men’s hair and beards for the last nine years at Oasis Gym in Grimsby.
“I have previously worked at Billy Bakers for 10 years, and I just thought this was the right time in my life to go it alone,” smiled Emma.
Inside the new barbers it’s quirky, old-fashioned with a hip decor, in a masculine friendly environment where guys can be guys and no one is embarrassed about wanting to look good.
“I’m very excited about my new venture, many of my regulars who came to me at Oasis have said they will follow me here.
“And of course I’m hoping for new customers to see what I can do for them,” she added.
With 25 years experience, Emma is no stranger to cutting men’s hair.
“I can trim beards and blend from bald and phase to number 4.
“I’ve gone for a rustic feel, with old scaffolding boards on the floor, cinema seats from the old Odeon Cinema in Freeman Street, a chesterfield sofa in a sort of vintage 1950s-style.
“Free tea and coffee and of course newspapers on offer,” Emma added.
There is a car park at the rear of the premises for which Emma will refund your £1 parking fee or free street parking.
Emma’s opening hours are Tuesday, 9.30am-3pm, Wednesday/Thursday, 9.30am-7pm, Friday 9.30am-5pm, Saturday (between 8-9.30am it’s appointments only) 9.30am-2pm and Sunday 10am-2pm.

Think Rat Pack, not Boy Band, snazzy haircuts and beard trims all at reasonable prices.
In recent years more men have been visiting the barbers to receive their regular trim and for additional grooming treatments and facial grooming.
How often should a man have his hair cut? For men who sport a short, classic gents haircut would be every 4-6 weeks. But for those wishing to grow their hair, it would more likely be every 6-8 weeks.
