New Humberside Airport hotel welcomes first guests

Northern Lincolnshire's newest hotel has opened and just finished welcoming its first ever guests.

New Humberside Airport hotel welcomes first guests

The Hampton by Hilton at Humberside airport is now open and is just a short three minute walk from the terminal building itself.

Operating under franchise by Hampton and managed by Leaf Hospitality, the new £8 million hotel has seen the creation of 50 new jobs, and has 100 modern, spacious guest rooms, a business and 24-hour fitness centre, and two meeting rooms capable of accommodating up to 50 people.

As well as welcoming guests about to jet off on their holidays, the hotel will also be working with several oil, gas and wind power companies whose workforce will stay there before travelling to the continent or the Humber estuary as it continues to develop as a centre of excellence for renewable energy.

The hotel has taken just over eighteen months to build and Sam Teale, the general manager, hopes that it will play a valuable role in both the local community and the local economy.

He said: “With the offer of meeting space, we hope that corporate clients and community groups from the surrounding villages will make full use of the facilities. Our doors will be open to non-residents looking for somewhere to enjoy a chat and a coffee or stage a meeting away from their office.

We also expect our guests to be jetting off to holiday destinations from Humberside Airport or visiting one of the many renewables companies that are based in the region.

“Irrespective of whether they’re renewables workers, holiday makers or locals, they will also receive the same warm welcome as we introduce people to what Hampton call, the “Hamptionality” experience. It’s a term which is used to describe our approach to friendly customer service, anticipating our guests' needs and providing travellers with helpful suggestions about area attractions, historical facts and fun things to do nearby.”

As well as a unique atmosphere and experience, visitors to the hotel will also be able to see a unique piece of artwork in the Business Centre once the official opening has been held next month.

Artist Kirsty Sharman has been commissioned to create a painting. Kirsty’s piece is inspired by the region’s landscape, renewables industry and the sense of excitement people feel when about to jet off from Humberside Airport.
