New resort bike shop to pedal deals to suit any budget

CLEETHORPES’ newest bike and cycle repair shop will help locals saddle up this Christmas by offering top deals to suit “any budget”.

New resort bike shop to pedal deals to suit any budget

The owner of the popular Fuller Street store in Grimsby, Bike Fix, is opening a second branch in Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes,  tomorrow.

Unlike its parent store, a repair-orientated business, this new shop will specialise in cycle sales, and will offer a range of around 40 different bikes for men, women and children.

And customers won’t have to break the bank to buy themselves, a friend or family member, a new bike in time for Christmas.

Owner of the business John Matthews says that 90 per cent of the bikes on offer will be available to buy for between £250 and £300, with no bikes for sale at more than £500.

The opening of the shop coincides with the Black Friday sales extravaganza, and Bike Fix is wasting no time in getting in on the act.

Black Friday sales shoppers tomorrow will be able to pick up a BMX bike or mountain bike from £99, for one day only.

The store will also offer a range of Christmas deals, and customers will be able to take advantage of the Christmas club incentive, a scheme designed to help people buy a present for a loved one, without worrying about paying the full cost up front.

People will be asked to pay a deposit and set up a repayment scheme.

For John, whose new store has created two new jobs, his ethos is all about offering “value for money”.

He said: “We want to offer a friendly and pressure-free environment for people to look around.

“There are enough shops locally that sell expensive bikes. These are all lower end bikes.

“We are not aiming towards the higher market and want to be able to help people out.

“This is shop for people who are on a bit of a budget.”

Not only will the store sell bikes to suit any age and size, Bike Fix staff are trained to carry out cycle servicing and repairs.

A range of servicing packages are available to customers and start from just £25.

All works will be carried out within the store’s workshop, where customers can even enquire about the customisation of almost any bike straight off the shelf.

John, owner of Bike Fix for two-and-a-half years, says that colour schemes can be mixed and matched to the customer’s taste.

From tomorrow, Bike Fox will be open six days a week between 9am and 5pm, excluding Sundays. For more information,  call 07982 311292.
