‘Next gen’ business leaders form networking group in North East Lincolnshire
30th June 2017
YOUNG professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners in North East Lincolnshire are joining forces to create a dedicated networking group for the next generation of business leaders.
Biz Hive Next Gen, which has been established with the full support of E-Factor's enterprise support club Business Hive, is a new informal network that encourages ambitious entrepreneurs, freelancers and those working their way up the career ladder to connect. After months of planning it will officially be introduced to the business community at a launch party next month.
Adam Aisthorpe, senior solicitor at Wilkin Chapman and member of the Biz Hive Next Gen Steering Group, said: “Biz Hive Next Gen is all about coming together on an informal basis to build relationships, share knowledge and to create opportunities. Our target demographic are those between the ages of 18 and 40 or in the early stages of their careers, and our events are aimed at broadening our membership’s network of contacts.
“Ultimately, our aim is create a diverse membership, bringing like-minded local people together to share and collaborate on ideas, start new ventures and build friendships that could last a life time.”
Joining him and Cartergate House colleagues Laura Lougher and Joshua Briggs on the steering group are Liam O' Leary, managing director of Laser Red; Paul Tofton, partner, and Alex Shreeve, senior accountant, at Forrester Boyd; Lindsay Cowie, freelance writer and blogger; Ellie Goldby, recruitment consultant at Root2 Recruit, and Emma Cox and Jasmin Powles, client services administrators at E-Factor.
Miss Cowie said: “I am so excited to be a part of this new group. The Business Hive has always been very supportive to me as a freelancer, and now this network especially for younger people in business is another way to meet like-minded individuals, and to hopefully create new opportunities and successes between us all.
“The launch party is a chance for us all to meet up and make those initial connections, and then we'll have a series of fun, engaging events throughout the year to keep that support growing.”
It takes place on Wednesday, July 19 from 6pm to 8pm at Tale of Two, Cleethorpes. Booking is essential, with those interested urged to call 01472 242667 or click here.
Mark Webb, E-Factor managing director, said: “The Business Hive is delighted to give all the support we can to this exciting initiative. The steering group who are driving this are examples of the wealth of entrepreneurial and innovative attitudes that exist in the young entrepreneurs and business professionals of North East Lincolnshire, and we know there are hundreds more out there just like them!
“Whatever we can do to encourage and support their growth and success, has got to be a great thing for the future of the area.”
