The extended opening hours will increase to 51 hours a week and offer a convenient, quick service and a new modern layout to the Riby Square Post Office.

The newly modernised services at the Post Office located on Freeman Street will launch at 1pm on Friday, March 17. The service will be provided from three serving positions, one modern screened and two open plan counters.

Other services will include banking for personal customers and small businesses, bill payment, benefits, travel money, postage, home shopping returns, Local Collect and financial services advice.

The branch will open from 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, providing an extra three hours to services on a Saturday afternoon and offering more choice of times to visit.

As the traditional banking network declines, customers for the majority 99 per cent of UK banks can use their Post Office for online banking cash deposits and withdrawals and bill payments.

The Post Office will close at 5.30pm on Monday, March 6 in order for the refurbishment to take place. During this renovation, the retail store will remain open and Post Office services may be accessed from any convenient Post Office branch including:

Victor Street Post Office, Lincoln Co-op store, Convamore Road, Grimsby
Grimsby Post Office, 67-71 Victoria Street, Grimsby

Damian Mulholland, Post Office Area Manager said: "We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office."
