Revealed: How much properties cost per square metre in Grimsby area

PROPERTIES in Grimsby are some of the cheapest in the country based on how much home you get for your cash.
Grimsby house buyers pay less than most others in the country with the average cost of a property standing at under £1,000 per square metre.
Data put together by freelance data scientist, Anna Powell-Smith, show that, based on 1,038 sales, people in the DN31 postcode area of Grimsby pay, on average, less than £800 per square metre of their homes.
That's compared to a huge £20,000 per square metre that home buyers in SW1X, Belgravia, and W1K, Mayfair, pay.
Out of 2,280 postcode districts analysed, the top 70 were all in central London and the first 100 were all in Greater London. The most expensive postcode district outside Greater London is OX2 in Oxford.
To work out the stats, sale prices have been taken from the Land Registry's price paid dataset of residential property sales to individuals since August 2007 and the floor area in square metre per property has been taken from Energy Performance Certificates (EPC).
The aggregate price per square metre for each postcode district is then calculated as the total price of all sales, divided by the total floor area of all properties.
The data is available to view on an interactive map and can be accessed by visiting www.houseprices.anna.ps/#.
Looking further afield than DN31, the map shows that, based on 2,967 sales, properties in the DN32 postcode area cost £936 per square metre.
Based on 2,178 sales, properties in the DN34 postcode area cost £1,247 per square metre and, based on 2,291 sales, properties in the DN33 postcode area cost £1,461 per square metre.
The cost per square metre per property in Cleethorpes is slightly higher. Based on 4,146 sales, properties in DN35 cost £1,331 per square metre.
And in DN41, which includes places like Keelby and Stallingborough, based on 801 sales, properties cost £1,652 per square metre.
In Immingham, the DN40 postcode, based on 1,008 sales, properties cost £1,235 per square metre on average.
In the DN37 postcode area, which covers Waltham and the surrounding villages, based 1,995 sales, properties cost £1,530 per square metre.
Properties in the postcode area which covers Caistor and surrounding villages, LN7, based on 484, cost £1,494 per square metre.
And the Market Rasen postcode, LN8, based on 1,828 sales, properties cost £1,560 per square metre.
