Navigating Export: Negotiation and Risk

The Department for International Trade has teamed up with Skills Support for the Workforce to deliver two half-day export workshops. These workshops are designed to give you greater confidence managing overseas interactions and be aware of potential risks in exporting. You may attend one or both events. 

9am to 1pm

‘How to do Better Deals’ delivered by Bob Spence of Get Spence, the export negotiation specialists.

This half-day morning session will be a tactic filled workshop which will support your ability to reinforce the pricing structure of your proposals and is designed for participants who want to improve general sales, export transactions and the profitability of their overseas trading. It is aimed at understanding different cultural attitudes to business and sales strategies, improving margin, defending pricing, and improving business to business sales skills.

1:30pm to 4pm
'Risk Management in International Trade' delivered by Dr Elvis Hernandez-Perdomo.

This half-day afternoon session will focus on local Humber businesses and how they can apply effective risk management in export, trade and logistics. This workshop is aimed to help SMEs and micro-businesses understand how to manage risks and why planning ahead is crucial in solving potential problems.

Due to the popularity of our courses, companies are limited to one delegate per workshop. Any additional delegates may be removed. Please get in contact with the events team to discuss special circumstances.

This event is only available to SME companies (including sole traders) based in the Humber. All delegates must be aged 19+. Registration is required in advance, delegates will receive a phone call from HCUK Training prior to the event.

Venue Parking
