Discount designer store House of Monica opens in Grimsby with Gucci, Dior and Versace on offer

Glamorous Gucci, delectable Dior and voguish Versace outfits will all now be available to Grimsby shoppers.
The new House of Monica fashion boutique opened at Freshney Place on Saturday offering 'previously cherished' designer labels outfits, accessories and jewellery.
House of Monica is the latest addition, from Grimsby businesswoman Monica Atkin and her daughter Phoebe, selling ‘previously cherished’ designer label outfits as well as accessories and jewellery.
The mum and daughter and the second winners of Freshney Place’s Apprentice Retailer business competition with The Boot Room, selling football boots for all ages, also now open.
“This is a great opportunity for us,” said Monica, who has been running her own recruitment business in London for a number of years.
“Fashion is my real passion and I’ve been wanting to take the plunge with my own shop for some time. Being one of the winners of Apprentice Retailer is a dream come true and just the start that we need.”
As with Boot Room, which opened on Thursday, House of Monica will enjoy a a free six-month tenancy with no rates or service charges, as well as support from business advisors at E-Factor.
“We’ve stocked the store with a number of unique, one-off pieces as well as some beautiful, exclusive accessories,” Monica said ahead of the opening.
“We want to make these outfits, bags and shoes accessible to all, so we’re making the environment comfortable and welcoming, but also somewhere the shopper can be confident they will find a good deal.”
