Green light for four barn conversions with ‘modern twist’ in Healing
21st September 2017
Four old farm barns that have fallen into a state of disrepair will be transformed into new homes following council approval.
North East Lincolnshire Council's planning committee has given the go-ahead to plans to breathe new life into the vacant barns, on land off Wells Road, Healing.
Four units will be converted to create two two-bedroom homes, one three-bedroom home and one four-bedroom home.
Each new property will have an open plan kitchen / day room and be within the current footprint of the existing buildings.
One of the barns requires a "contemporary extension" to accommodate a kitchen/day room area, but most of the work will be done in the existing structures of the barns.
Councillors voted unanimously to approve the proposals, which set out plans to repair and replace the current roofs and doors & windows, made in timber to match the current style.
Each new home would have its own garden and be built facing inwards around a self-contained and redeveloped courtyard area.
