The Council and its partner Jobcentre Plus encourage employers to offer work experience opportunities to our young people and jobseekers to help develop and grow the skills of our local workforce. Jobcentre Plus runs a programme of work placements for its jobseekers, the placements can be for 2 to 8 weeks and for up to 30 hours a week. They can help you to find a suitable candidate and advise you on how it works, they will also stay in touch with you and the participant all the way through the placement. All the work experience participants on the Jobcentre programme apply to placements voluntarily. The young people are keen to gain workplace skills and confidence, enhance their CV and gain an employer reference they can use in the future.
